Windows Smart App Control can prevent an unrecognized application from running. If it blocks the installer, first verify the download and use an official, trusted release. Turning Smart App Control off can require resetting or reinstalling Windows to turn it back on.
02 / Windows SmartScreen
SmartScreen may warn about apps with limited reputation. Confirm the file's origin and authenticity before choosing to run it.
03 / Antivirus detection
Security software may flag installers or update scripts. Verify the download and investigate detections before restoring quarantined files. Do not create broad antivirus exclusions without understanding the risk.
04 / ZIP installation
If you are using a trusted ZIP distribution, extract it into the appropriate game directory. The current EVO launcher is named FEAR-EVO.exe; older RTXmod distributions may use different launch scripts.
